neu January artwork!

Our rad, talented, funny friend Kevin McCarthy made this months artwork. We are so happy with it!

New Web Art

The new drawing on the website and above this post was done by our dear friend Moses D. Rios, who hails from our old home San Francisco, CA. Well more specifically he's from San Jose, but we are all from a thousand places, right?

We love Mo, we miss Mo and we are stoked on the Bart drawing he made for us!
Other than surfing, wreaking havoc, playing music, and DJing at bars in SF he has a blog that we check daily, cause he updates it daily.

First time I met Moses I was serving burgers at Joe's Cable Car, but before that I was recognized him as the guy that works at Recycled Records on Haight St.

Superstitions are on Impose Magazines best new music of 2010 list! It's 2009 right now, though...

Okay but really yeah it mentions Superstitions, Wizard Mountain, Grass Widow and Ty Segall. Coolio.

Superstitions

Since 2006, purveyors in the only garage country licks we've heard and liked. The Superstitions have a sweet new cassette on Wizard Mountain, a label that introduced us to Ty Segal (a dude the band did a split with last year), and Grass Widow. Hopefully some label will get a full-length out of them in the next twelve months.

Best Coast

Creeping out of the shadows of Pocahaunted as a song-writer and talent in her own right, Bethany Cosentino's spattering of 7-inches were among the best examples of jangley west coast garage pop in 2009, and the full-length she and Bobb Bruno are crafting will surely synthesize the ripe emotionalism she manages to capture in her perfunctory lyrics and honest vocal delivery.
