Thanksgiving: Jessica 2009

Now that Thanksgiving weekend is over and my leftovers are almost gone, why not tell you about my day... by showing you pics of miss Jessica Darakjian from the hour we rose to the hour we went to sleep.

we woke up at 7am, and started mimosa's at 7:30am, which is when this pic was taken.

8:30am met up with Shea at her subway stop and made our way to the Macy's Day Parade

9:30am At the parade, with a lame view. We knew it was going to be like this, but we went anyway, glad we did, won't go again tho ;) Here's Jess with pink float and then another pic with some reapplied lipstick.

10:30am Paid in full Tofurkey, we were supposed to have a Wheat Roast, but apparently NY isn't down.

a little subway entertainment by a pole dancing thesbian...

11:30am duty calls, almost home for some cooking

12:30pm Jessica cooking photo 1: pumpkin cream cheese roll

1:30pm Jessica cooking photo 2: brussel sprouts! (my fave)

2:30pm Jessica cooking photo 3: frosting the pumpkin roll!

3:30pm Jessica cooking photo 4: starting the potatoes

4:30pm Jessica cooking photo 5: making some gravy!

5:30pm Time to eat! seriously everything on the table was made by Jessica. I really didn't help at all. Our kitchen was too small, fur realz.

Eating! We have no chairs for our kitchen table so we ate on the floor... or Jessica, the cook did. Shea, Chelsea and I had chairs. :/

6:30pm dead from food

7:30pm Scrabble sucks when you're exhausted

8:30pm texting and tired, went to bed shortly after this

So that was my Thanksgiving, and it was the second one spent away from my family... it was fun, but I missed mi familia. I'm going home for Christmas though! Dec 22-29!!! only so.cal though, no sf :(
Jessica posted pics of Chelsea on Thanksgiving at Whitch?Hunt and Chelsea posted pics of me on ChelseaJene (we are so coordinated!)

Press: RosenMunns

RosenMunns got interviewed by PullTheMetal.

Seriously grand interview.

The friendship part made be teary eyed cause I'm a sucker for love and friendship... but aren't we all.
This interview also made me miss the shit out of them, as they are two people that I instantly fell in love with the moment that I met them. They are soul sisters and they invited me to ride that wave with them.
I've read some other interviews with RosenMunns and they always seem so articulate and well-versed, it totally gives you a feel for what they want to convey in their work as RM.

So go and read it already!
(I took the liberty of linking the English version, but if you're well-versed in Spanish go for it!)

In conclusion the sale now ends at 11:59pm EST Monday (11/30), plan accordingly.
That goes for the newsletter subscribers as well, remember to type in the special code if you found out about the sale thru the newsletter.

von sono

von sono - love ya guyz, always have... and now you make a dress that looks like the dirk van saene treasure i let escape my life in spring 2008. it was such a treasure that i can't even find a pic of it on the world wide web... 10 points to anyone who can. it was khaki, a-line, 3/4 sleeve, hit just above the knee in a medium-weight cotton. and it had a face on it! sewn onto it, somewhat like this von sono piece, but just on the chest, and not in a jersey. and it was more raised... 3-d, even tho a dress is already 3-d, well you understand my drift, right?

but seriously, von sono i love your spring/summer 2010 collection. this dress will complete me, since i didn't get to get completed from dirk's perf dress.

openclothed

Diana Lang of openclothed is compiling some info for her new project/collection for 2010. We have always been fans of this conceptual driven line, and this new project sounds fun/interesting. So we are going to participate, you should to!

Here are her instructions:

"The current ) (( ) project is based on the SEASONS and CLIMATE. Including a new collection of separates for 2010, it will serve as a format for various collections of communal events, non-utilitarian objects and visual information.

To further the possibilities of this project I ask for your participation:

My Part:
A compilation of the subjective experience of the atmosphere we live in which guides our apparel, moods, actions, architecture, food, routines and rituals, communal interaction, etc...

Your Part:
Please list* any associations you have with the 4 seasons under their title. They can be objects, actions, experiences, moods, weather, memories, whatever you want - subjective vs. universal, regional vs. national vs. global, tactile vs. ephemeral

SPRING

SUMMER

FALL

WINTER

*If describing an experience is more interesting than a list format that is great too. If you would like to stay anonymous, email your response and I'll keep the secret!

Thanks a lot!
-DL"
